Chapter 01 — SHOW KASAMATSU
Sho Kasamatsu: Flexible Pride, Going Beyond Himself
As an actor, Sho Kasamatsu has continuously reinvented his craft by taking on diverse roles in both domestic and international films and TV shows.
Even when his circumstances or the demands placed on him change, his progress never falters. He possesses a quiet strength, characteristic of someone with deep experience.
Dressed in apparel from his collaboration with Descente and carrying the "SIRIUS" suitcase, his presence reflects the journey he has undertaken.
Sho Kasamatsu says, "If I don't keep reinventing myself, I won't keep getting called."
New sets and new travels are actually scary. Nevertheless, the time he has accumulated, one step at a time, confronting that fear, is what has shaped him into who he is today.
"I don't want to settle for average."
"I want to be true to my own feelings, not to the evaluations of others."
With a quiet intensity, he continues to reinvent himself.
"I've already seen the scenery I wanted to see," he says.
"I've achieved the dreams I wanted to achieve. To do that, I've done things I didn't want to do."
Even as he says this, Kasamatsu speaks of how seeing his work appreciated by others is still the greatest joy for him. Carrying with him all that he has built up, he continues his journey today. He is still on his path.

"When you use a tool, you just know it by feel," says Sho Kasamatsu, who also values a sense of natural comfort in his busy, on-the-go life. The packable coat, which can be carried compactly, is another item that supports his light and easy movement.

PROFILE: Born in Aichi Prefecture in 1992. Began his acting career in earnest in 2013. In 2020, he starred in his first feature film, "Flower and Rain." Recent major works include the dramas "Love You as the World Ends" (Hulu), "The Naked Director Season 2" (Netflix), the starring film "Ring Wandering," the Japanese-American co-production drama "TOKYO VICE" (WOWOW), and "Gannibal" (Disney+). In 2022, he announced his contract with CAA, and in 2023, he established his own agency. He has also appeared in popular works in Korea, such as "Good News" (Netflix) and the drama "Taxi Driver" (SBS). He is currently appearing in the Fuji TV Wednesday 10 p.m. drama "LOVED ONE" as Ota, a prosecutor who confronts the protagonist and plays a key role in the latter half of the story. He is expanding his field of activity, making his presence felt in both domestic and international productions.
