Blazing a trail into uncharted territory – that’s exactly the kind of person Robert M. Lee (nicknamed Bob Lee), the founder of Hunting World, was. Born in New York, Bob Lee developed a love for the outdoors from a young age. His dream was to travel to the uncharted lands of Africa. In the 1960s, when Bob Lee was active as an adventurer in Africa, everyone in the field used canvas bags without question. However, while canvas was durable, it lacked airtightness. In the dry savannas and deserts, fine dust would get inside, making it difficult to protect the contents.

Moreover, it was heavy, not waterproof, and its weight increased further when it absorbed moisture and humidity. At the time, the sensitive equipment Bob Lee took on his adventures, such as cameras and film, also needed shock resistance, oil resistance, and heat resistance to protect them from the scorching African heat. And it needed to be soft so that its shape and size could be altered. With this vision, Bob Lee took on the challenge of developing the ideal material himself. And in 1972, the unique material "Batue-Cloth," capable of withstanding extreme heat and cold, was born.

The field bag crafted from BATTUE ORIGIN, a symbol of Bob Lee's adventurous spirit and the embodiment of the brand's motto "LIVE THE ADVENTURE," has remained at the core of the brand for over 50 years. It is a source of pride for Hunting World and a crucial component that continues to support the brand. Half a century after the birth of BATTUE ORIGIN, "NEO BATTUE ORIGIN" was created. It retains the fundamental structure, functionality, and luxurious appearance of the original BATTUE ORIGIN developed by Bob Lee, while being improved to adapt to changing environments.

The "Neo BATTUE-CROSS" was born, retaining the basic structure, functionality, and luxurious appearance of BATTUE as completed by Bob Lee, but refined to adapt to changing environments.

The current "Batten Cloth" is a three-layer structure consisting of a polyurethane-coated nylon Oxford base fabric laminated with urethane foam and backed with nylon jersey. Meanwhile, the newly developed "Neo Batten Cloth" uses a polyester base fabric that is highly resistant to heat pressing. Moreover, it employs an ecological recycled polyester material that carries on Bob Lee's passion for nature. To protect the contents from dust and rain, a polycarbonate sheet is press-bonded as a coating material, improving weather resistance. It has been made tougher against climate and environment, and given a more beautiful appearance.

Neo Baccu Cross Structure and Role

The cushioning material unique to "BATTUE CLOTH" is polyether foam. Its soft thickness lasts for a long time, providing excellent shock absorption. You can carry delicate items like computers and cameras with peace of mind. "NEO BATTUE CLOTH" is a new material developed after half a century. For Hunting World, this is yet another adventure.
