The "coexistence" society envisioned by the founder

Bob Lee, the founder of Hunting World, was someone who was conscious of "coexistence with nature" from an early stage. Driven by his yearning for the great outdoors, he traveled to Africa in his youth, and through repeated adventures, he came to believe that nature and wildlife needed some form of protection.

He actually said, "He who loves animals is a true hunter. For a hunter, animals are life itself, and precious friends. Hunters have protected animals from slaughter across borders since long before the Middle Ages."

In Africa at the time, there were many instances of uncontrolled hunting and poaching, and it was predicted that animals would face future extinction if they continued to be hunted without rules. Before founding Hunting World, Bob Lee established a safari tour company called "Lee Expeditions" in 1959, and one of its operations was to survey protected game animals. As a result, he learned that many large animals were being killed by poachers, and he founded an organization to invite sport hunters to stop this. By removing the traps set by poachers and, conversely, employing poachers as guides to conduct a limited number of sport hunts, he successfully managed wildlife.

Even after founding Hunting World in 1965, Bob Lee did not remain in the role of president but actively embarked on explorations. In 1980, he undertook an expedition to the Pamir Mountains, where he discovered a legendary, elusive goat. The following year, during a survey near the Siberian border, he used his findings to propose wildlife conservation policies to the Chinese government. He was truly a man who consistently immersed himself in the outdoors, deeply exploring "coexistence with nature." This philosophy is now a strong motivation for Hunting World's diverse sustainability activities.
